For the edification of the children and continued contributions of the elders, our record of the creatures of our local legends and the methods by which were slain.

Humanoid

A monster of indeterminate form; apparently it has the ability to disguise itself as someone close to you. Has teeth like a bear trap when it attacks. [sketch of whatever Dias included]

A large, red, humanoid monster. Two heads, no eyes, but it can find prey easily enough. Quick for its size. Wields fire. Carnivorous. Will eat most anything thrown at its head, including flashlights. May be related to a patient. Some tell that it has paralytic poison, others that it does not.

A woman (?) with long, dark hair. Very fast, quite strong, can apparently make unusually high leaps, and approaches quietly. Seems unaffected by injury. Bites, but doesn't chew--seems to be interested only in blood. (A vampire?)

A pale woman, with dark purple hair, hanging down in curls. Her laughs are shrill, and border on deranged. Her body convulses; her eyes are dead. Mentions a "master". She carries a heated fire poker, and is quick and adept with it. [sketch]

A woman and a giant. Poison gas from the woman (I had to cover my mouth) and a big, huge guy with chains on wrists. If the woman dies, the giant loses its direction. I dreamed I fought them in a pair with someone else, and you should too if you seek to slay them! (Nurse and Orderly)

Two women: one of dust and decay, yet skin continues to swallow the items near and utilize them as an atypical arsenal. Another bears hypodermic needles through the flesh and their fingers hideously transformed into surgical scalpels. [sketch from the buses and other descriptions]

This one I am less sure of; he may have been one of us... A small child wearing a strange mask. He asked for his mother, but his touch caused injury.

Three golden monsters with metal for skin in and knives for fingers in the Disciplinary Therapy hallway. Their weak point is at the base of the spine, and the blood has remarkable healing properties. A small quantity will cure severe injuries.

Their blood seems to lose potency quickly. It can still heal, but the degree of healing is significantly reduced.

Insects

There was also a large swarm of graceful, reptilian insects which attempted to devour anyone who happened to be unfortunate enough to be caught within their midst. Strangely, throwing objects through the swarm made them turn on themselves in their confusion, and enough widely-spread attacks concluded the matter. Their wings didn't take kindly to water. After the swarm was drenched, it was simply a matter of stomping all of them to death. [sketch]

Spiders. Their body seems to be the size of an average human, while their legs appear to be around five feet, but seem to vary in size. They also possess pinchers. Regardless, their undead, rotting bodies appear to be weak. (I don't care if it's an arachnid. It's a bug to me.)

Scorpions. Giant. Need more information.

Large, nasty-smelling cockroaches. Stabbing them seemed to work. They are too big to crush easily. Travel in large groups.

Spirits

A ghost-woman that's completely covered with snake and holly tattoos. Her touch spreads a strange, painful tattoo (similar to her own) that's only visible at night. I think it has lingered for about two nights before disappearing. She also seems to be strong physically.

An invisible spirit that laughs, teases, and chokes. Invisible one didn't have a body I could sense at all. Don't make deals with them (?)

A shadow that steals the will. The shadow didn't seem to like light much but I couldn't hurt it.

A bloodstained girl with floating blue fires following her around. The girl was affected by magic.

"I suggest just getting away from all of them. They aren't worth the trouble."

Animals/Lizards

Small armless imps, sharp of tooth and talon but fragile. [sketch]
Suggest blunt force over edge weapons.

Rats, the size of which is more comparable to a small dog than any rat has right to be. Haven't been attacked by any, but one was seen so they evidently exist. [sketch]

Little brown men made out of the very earth they rise up from. They like to dig their claws into your leg and ankles. Just kick the annoying pests where their face would be. Oh, they also freeze up if exposed to light.

Cats. [sketch includes approximate size and helpful hints on where to cut/hit]

A dog or wolf of some sort; it's hard to tell which, as they're of the undead variety and rotting away. These stand about roughly waist-height; quick and agile despite their advanced state of decay, also highly aggressive. Seem to attack as normal wild dogs or wolves do, and can be similarly dispatched. Rotten flesh offers little resistance to blades. I've only encountered one alone, but they'd be dangerous in packs. [sketch]

Large ugly apes. If you're smart enough you'll avoid its fists. [detailed sketch]

Snakes, the strangling ones (they didn't appear to be venomous, at least). Larger than they are supposed to be. Knives don't work on them.

Bats. Travel in groups. Have claws and teeth, but are easy to defeat if you have something heavy and hit them hard enough, as their flesh is rotten. They smell horrible.

The monsters from the night the buses broke down, encountered outside the front doors. [detailed sketch] Sever the tendon, muscle, or major artery at the base of a wing. It will be completely unable to fly and easily dispatched afterwards.

Hearth-lizards, fire-breathers. The hunter with skill to avoid their flames finds them no more difficult to dispatch with weapons than an ordinary animal. [sketch]

Other

Some disgusting-looking creature. It seems to be various monster parts stitched together.

Death-slugs! Well, leeches, really. But huge! As long as your arm. Don't squish them in the middle, the front half'll keep trying to get at you. Crush the head and teeth or better yet, don't go crawling in a pile of them.

Blacklist (Those no hero has slain, only wisely escaped.)

A great guardian, perhaps once man but now machine. Its strength, armor, and skill are beyond any hunter's. It has living eyes behind its mask and may be harmed by magic, but only an army of hunters may feel emboldened by such trivial vulnerabilities. [sketch]

A large man with a massive sword and/or a long spear and a triangular helmet. Others have encountered it as well; some seem to have taken to calling it 'Pyramid Head'. Extremely dangerous, can take grievous wounds without stopping or flinching and has unnatural physical strength. Also possessed of a long, black - appendage. Possibly a tongue. Avoid at all costs. [detailed sketch]

A silent creature in a dark cloak. When it got near, things got cold, and it made everyone miserable enough to consider giving up. It's a bit taller than a human, and about the same shape. It's better to deal with it as quickly as possible, and only if necessary. It bleeds insects and is able to repair any damage sustained. Blunt force works well. Said that chocolate reverses their psychic effects. [sketch]

An enormous creature with huge, clawed paws and sharp teeth. It also had wings, but did not use them, as it was blocking a doorway. You'll know it by the scent - fetid, and rotten, and worse than you can imagine. Do not attempt to engage it unless you are well-armed and in large numbers.

A blond man appearing to be in his twenties with red eyes sported golden earrings. May appear in casual attire, hair is typically spiked up, sometimes dons golden armor. Possesses the ability to summon a Gate either perceived by eyes or not from which an endless supply of weapons may be drawn, exceptional accuracy with said weapons, and the ability to launch them at blinding speeds seemingly from anywhere. He is a chaotic soul and should be avoided at all costs. He answers to the title Archer. Mortal lives mean nothing to him.

A 7 ft (2.13 m) tall, bald, dark-skinned man wearing a dark trench coat. Eyes have no irises. Does not speak or make any other vocalizations. Heavy footsteps, makes no attempt to ambush in the initial approach. Carries no weapons, but is capable of attacking with more force than a human of the same size. Also capable of moving much faster than would be assumed for its weight, without telegraphing its intended movements beforehand. More durable than a human, does not appear to feel pain. Only to be approached by a group of experienced fighters. Blades proved to be effective, as were strikes to all areas that would disable a human. It was defeated, but all groups engaging this one must be prepared for the likely possibility of sustaining traumatic injuries, broken bones, etc. It was eventually taken down, but I suspect that it would get back up after a certain amount of time (this has been confirmed -ed). I wouldn’t advise remaining in the area long enough to find out. [recluse's sketch has been moved here]
