Which kind of writing communities? What are you in now? I have several possible ones. The best is Critique Circle, but it depends on what you are looking for.
Ok then. A good poetry site that isn't really a community is Poetry.com. A good place to submit stories or poems is Fictionpress.com. However, reviews are not guaranteed. You will most likely get one or two for certain, and if someone really likes your work they will usually come bac regularly. A really good site is Critique Circle, which requires you to participate. For each review you give you get credits, and it takes about 3 credits to post a chapter of a story. It is a very active community and I really like it. I have a few others, but you can check these out first and let me know what you think.

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself since we share several LJ buddies (and interests) in common. I'm 35 and a huge Phantom of the Opera fan (since 89). My other interests are Dracula/vampires and the anime/manga Hellsing. I enjoyed playing video games at your age and eventually majored in a tech field. Right now, I'm teaching science.
Feel free to read my LJ, fanfic and friend me. I enjoy making new LJ buddies, especially Phantom ones:)
