yep, that's about what i was thinking , i deafeated that game a while ago, and i'm almost done with the extra hard mode...

i find the end quite fascinating... and i'm glad that the main enemy is my favorite enemy from ff7. plus... I love the story line for vincent valentine... I really do...

But yes, unless you are crazy fan... you'll probably be kind of bored by this game

I opted to not go for the extra hard and instead back to normal to see if I can get all the memory capsules and other things I missed during the orginal play through.

Yeah it defenitly gave a whole new look to Omega. You get to see just how really huge those weapons were. And getting to play as Choas was extra cool. Plus they even included Vincent's ultimate weapon from the original storyline in the Death Penalty. I am always parcial to Cloud's storyline another reason why I love Advent Children so much.

The ending anitmation and closing was very well done as usual.

How does it compare to other popular games of the (similar) genre like God Of War and Devil May Cry?

Games like Devil May Cry are way more bang for your buck, unless of course it is Devil May Cry 2 we are talking about :P As far as an action/shooter as say Devil May Cry is, DMC has a lot more to offer as far as the gameplay goes but story and graphics are on the side of Dirge. Defenitly not as violent as God of War and doesn't play as smooth either.

But if your a big Final Fantasy fan, esspecially that of VII, you won't like this game as much. One of the cool things about Dirge is that you are still on the same planet and most of the locations you will reconnize and even the maping is still the same in Shinra Building.
