I'm getting about 2 requests every week for information about the e-cigarettes, so I'm just going to write my own personal FAQ here. This is public, so feel free to share it. What sort of hassles have you encountered, if any, regarding the use of your e-cigarette? I've been reading about bans of the devices (based, it seems, on the mere fact that they look like regular cigarettes, not because they pose any actual hazards) all over the place here in the ever-puritanical Northeast, including Boston, MA, and here in NJ. My senescent fool of a senator Frank Lautenberg even recently impelled the Dept. of Transportation to "clarify" its ban of smoking on flights to include e-cigs (so leave your atomizer in your luggage next time you fly up here). I've also read or heard several anecdotes about people being chased out of places for "smoking" their e-cigs in places designated non-smoking (because the voodoo of secondhand smoke apparently lurks in mists as well) even in locales not gripped by nannyism. So have you ever been asked to stop your e-smoking anywhere, or been told to move to, say, the smoking section of a restaurant? Or have you been blessedly left alone? :-D>

I think the bans are silly for all the same reasons you do
