It has come to my attention that some people are confused by the girlfriends! Yes, indeed, our favorite tiny homosexuals sometimes evince interest in the opposite sex. I'm told this is a natural part of growing up, a "phase," if you will. Anyway, sometimes it's necessary to write the girlfriends into fic, so here's a primer so you know who's who.
This will be somewhat skewed towards Panic! At The Disco, as my life is somewhat skewed towards Panic! At The Disco. Also, they have the most visible girlfriends, presently. And we're only going to cover girls that you might see mentioned in fic, because if nobody really knows about them and they're just minding their business living in Chicago (or wherever), then let's leave them alone. Unless they're hot.
Most recent shot of P!ATD + girlfriends:
New Year's Eve 2007. From left: Spencer, Spencer's girlfriend Haley, Ryan's girlfriend Keltie, Ryan, poor sad lonely Brendon, Jon, Jon's girlfriend Cassie.
Okay!
Ryan Ross
Three important girlfriends in Ryan Ross's life (wherein important = public knowledge):
1. Long-term high school girlfriend, who he used to LJ emo-ly about. Inspired "Lying Is The Most Fun..."
2. Jac Vanek. Scene queen. Started dating Ryan after he e-stalked her on LJ for awhile.
3. Keltie Colleen. Current girlfriend. According to Ryan, this is the first time he's dated a "nice girl."
Jac:
They dated from about October 2005 - January 2006.
Jac is a model/photographer/college student/party girl in Los Angeles. See: her
LJ,
MySpace.
From Panic's fantastic
ap.net interview:
What do you think about the fans that have tracked down your past girlfriends have begun idolizing them and giving each their own cult following via the internet?
Ryan: It’s Disgusting. Why would people idolize someone who doesn’t do anything and saying you’re a model/photographer with a digital camera and photoshop does not count as an artist.
Ouch.
Keltie:
Keltie is a dancer for the New York Knicks. Her and Ryan met when she worked as one of the dancers for the I Write Sins performance at the VMAs.
First pic of Ryan and Keltie that the internets found.
Pretty girls in eyeliner.
A lot of Keltie's information was initially available online because she has the world's most easily-Googled name and she works in the entertainment industry. Not so much anymore. People seem to dislike her (principally for reasons like
this), but whatever, she makes Ryan happy.
Brendon Urie
Dated Audrey Kitching, scene queen and model. This lasted from October 2005 - March 2006. Roughly. Brendon got no play in high school; Audrey was actually his first girlfriend.
See: her
LJ,
MySpace.
Then Brendon dated Brittany, a friend from high school, around summer 2006. And by dated I mean "didn't admit to dating."
But, dated.
She was his date to the VMAs. In the Spin article, they were "canoodling." But Brendon said they were just friends.
He allegedly has a girlfriend now, but until we get pics, who the fuck knows?
Spencer Smith
Dates Haley, has been dating Haley since Truckstops and Statelines. They met at the Chicago show. She's from a small town in Illinois, and she's in her last year of high school. Also, pardon the editorial commentary, but damn she's cute.
Also, sometime last year she posted these pictures to her MySpace:
For this, we thank her.
And most recently:
Awwwwwww.
Jon Walker
Dates Cassie, has been dating Cassie for awhile. She's a college student in Chicago. Is also cute.
No, seriously, really insanely cute.
William Beckett
Has been dating Christine, a Chicago girl, for the past couple of years.
Not often mentioned in fic, but she makes William look like a happy bunny, so I'm including her.
Patrick Stump
Had a very, very long term girlfriend named Anna. They dated for about four years, and mostly kept out of the spotlight.
They broke up last year, after she allegedly cheated on him, and Patrick took it hard. From Alternative Press, February 2007: "The day we broke up, I called up our booking agent and told him to book March 22 because I didn't want to be home along on our anniversary. Book her birthday, book Valentine's Day, book every fucking day you can."
Pete Wentz
Hahahahaha.
Notable:
Morgan: The girl he wrote Take This To Your Grave about. Cheated on him with two of his friends, then he got back together with her. Pete Wentz: is insane.
Jeanae: Started dating Jeanae when she was fifteen and he was twenty-three. All those Pete Wentz is a pedo rumors are comically true. They were on and off for about four years, right up to New Year's '07.
Ashlee Simpson: Hahahahahaha.
Jeanae:
That's right, the very same Jeanae of
Wentz and Jeanae seem to be ignoring this discussion. Wentz has the hood of his sweat shirt up, and they're whispering. Two days later, Wentz will tell me about her, how he can't let her go, how she's crazy, how she's the only girl he really wants.
-
Rolling Stone, February 2007 Her and Pete purchased Hemingway together. When they split (for good? yeah right) he got custody. :(
Ashlee:
I'm just gonna keep laughing. \o/
Things you don't necessarily need to know for fic or whatever but might make you laugh because how is the bandslash world so incestuous? How?
1. Jeanae is part of the Chicago scene that includes Jon Walker, Nick Scimeca (Pete's bff), Demar Hamilton (drummer of Panic! tourmates the Plain White T's), Tom Conrad (former guitarist for The Academy Is...), etc.
2. Jac still talks to Brittany, and apparently is friendly with some of Ryan's Vegas friends.
3. Jeanae and Audrey are friends.
FYI! This post is intended only to share information you might need to know to satisfy your curiosity/understand fic/write fic. If you don't like the girlfriends, shhhhh. This is not the place to air your grievances, okay?
Good general blurbs on the Haley and Brittany are available in Panic's issue of Spin. If anyone has scans of that, please link me, because I can't find any and it's driving me insane. If you have additional relevant information, share it! I'll try and keep this primer updated as they continue their adorable facades of heterosexuality. If there's anyone else you think should be included, say so. Also, please praise me, because this took a lot longer than I thought it would, damn.
