Wow. Some of the criticisms seem to be genuine..but overall this article is ridiculous.

OF COURSE everyone was applauding Joannie Rochette!!! She's Canadian, she medaled in her second (..or third?) Olympics, and she was also grieving! I was so, so glad she won...and I'm American and she beat Mirai. And there was applause for the other medalists too!!! It wasn't like they shunned them...

As for stuff which wasn't in their news..it wasn't in US news either.

So for the most part this article is just ridiculous.

This part confused me: "American short track speedskater Apolo Ohno won three medals, giving him eight and making him the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian of all time. But that's nothing -- Norway's Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, at age 36, won two biathlon medals and now has 11."

Someone build a time machine so we can send Gil back to Nazi Germany and let's see him try to make the comparison afterwards.

What an ignorant prick. He should be fired and banned from writing ever again.
