That's not who's performing this version. ;)

This goes on the "Most Awesome Things Ever" list I have to say. Though my mind hit a wall in there being a Rush song without Geddy Lee involved somewhere. So it pictured Geddy playing the upright bass in the background. And that was also pretty awesome. Who is performing this? Should I know and feel stupid for not? I feel stupid anyway for not knowing. I use to have an mp3 of Billy Corgan covering "Limelight" live at a concert accoustically. It was ok, but had that thing that all musicians feel they must do with accoustic versions of slowing it all down and making it feel all morose. Why must they all do this ( ... )

Haha, wait, Rush, here? I will join you in this endeavor as soon as I can secure the funds.

As for the song, it's Richard Cheese. He's the guy that does like, nothing but lounge covers of popular music. I downloaded all of his albums yesterday as we talked about him in Moab and his bitchin' lounge cover of "Down with the sickness" from the recent "Dawn of the Dead." I was just listening to all of it when "BAM!" Trees comes up, I was like "Holy crap, I must share this." because trees is one of my favorite Rush songs. Heh. But yeah, he does a million things like this, but he's not exactly main stream.

If you want more of his crap, I can burn it for you. And, his definition of what he does to music is "Swankify it." Not speeding it up or slowing it down, but giving it that crushed velvet and overpriced drinks feeling that lounge singers tend to have. Hell, the guy even does Lords of Acid's "Pussy." He's awesome.

Did you listen to the version I linked? Because if not, you're really doing yourself a disservice.
