So, I have just gotten the one-week-old news that Joan of Arcadia is being canceled, and that it is being replaced by a show in which Jennifer Love Hewitt talks to dead people. Les Moonves commented that "talking to ghosts may skew younger than talking to God."

Look, Les, if young people won't watch Eliza Dushku talking to dead people, what makes ( Read more... )

I'll miss Joan. It was definitely getting a lot better (again) by the end of the season.

I know that a lot of fans found Season 2 too dark, but I thought the show was pretty strong throughout its entire run. It's too bad we'll never see that big Ryan Hunter smackdown.

I could deal with Joan, or any show, really, getting canceled. What stings is that it's being replaced with a show that's just begging to be toast itself.

Don't drag My name into this! I loved "Firefly," Myself, and did they listen? NOT.

But don't worry. I've already reserved a special place in Hell for these bozos.

Peace, out!

And I agree that it is important to avail ourselves of any opportunity to sing the praises of mustard in these uncertain times.

Are you going to join SueG's attitude/ theory that, "I like a show, therefore it will get cancelled?"

I like more shows than sueg does, so the odds of at least some of my favorites surviving are relatively high. (Like, fortunately, Lost is enjoying very high ratings at the moment.)

That said, I was noticing for several years in a row that the best new show of each season, IMHO, was being axed before the season even finished. EZ Streets and Nothing Sacred would be two examples that fell into this category.
