Stupid Viacom

So I go to watch one of my favourite Avatar AMV's on youtube, and it's been taken down. Curiously I check all my other AMV links, and discover that youtube has taken down all my bookmarked Avatar videos thanks to a "copyright claim by Viacom" and gutted almost their entire collection. Luckily the putfile one survived.

Yeah, I find it very weird myself.

I'm working for MTV right now, Viacom owned, and many ideas that they come up with, and some talent, is found on youtube a lot. ::shrugs:: I guess it's okay to find people on there to make famous for 15 minutes, but not show Viacom movies.

It doesn't make much sense to me. The fans aren't making any money off of AMV's, heck it really just helps feed the popularity. Viacom is just silly.

I was noticing them doing that the other night when I was trying to watch bits of comedy shows. Mostly it just left me wondering what exactly fell under the claim, since some things still managaed to stay up.

All the other fandoms I have links to seem to have survived, though they might not be linked to viacom. Avatar was the only one I noticed.
