If "artificial intelligence" became "sentient" and considered itself truly intelligent, do you think it would still refer to itself as AI? I would think AI would become a derogatory term personally. Robot would be a derogatory term as well, since it is rooted from the word for "forced labor" in Czech. I think if we were to have robots in this
