Did you happen to look into laptops any further? I was talking to Kent about it, and he convinced me to just get a desktop and a palm pilot with a keyboard rather than a laptop... it seems like a real solid plan to me.

I still want a laptop i think... I'll go with a desktop if i can find a better deal on one... i dont think i'll be taking my laptop to lecture with me anyway, so I dont really care, I just wanted it because of the size, and I could bring it home at christmas... I was talking to someone though, who told me i should spend about a grand on one... so... ya, im no help.

buy it together. unless you are getting all the pieces used. but make sure the pieces are compatable. your school probably has good deals on computers. that's how i got mine last year.

I'm not sure what their deal on laptops is, but my brother got an amazing computer this past Christmas for just over $1200.
