I have fishies!! I've been wanting goldfish forever since, especially since the Asian fancy goldfish are so neat. I get really lonely working at home, but with my semi-nomadic lifestyle, owning anything more high-maintenance than a fish is impossible. I am delighted with my new little buddies, so I'm really hoping they take to their new bowl well

And I completely agree with Gritty Boston movies. (I haven't seen The Town yet, but I really want to, despite my natural aversion for Ben Affleck.)

As for American culture being "gritter," you obviously know better than me...but does the same trend apply to animated media? I'm curious as to your views on the matter.

Ahaha, I'm with you. I have it downloaded but haven't had a chance to watch it. I'm not too keen on Ben Affleck or Blake Lively, but...BOSTON

Anyway, I do think that's neat. I've watched a lot of anime, and I think there are some stronger female characters these days. (Ghost in the Shell, even Faye from Cowboy Bebop?) Also, I guess a global perspective makes me a little more grateful for bad American pop music?
