suspenders, hot or not?

I forced Dan to buy suspenders when we were in Italy because I think they're hot.
Today was the second time he wore them and he says he feels silly because he feels like he's missing something (his tie I think)
I think they're hot, still do, I think he needs to wear a bowtie too with them
