How much do I love the fact that your fruitless olive tree is producing? Your garden sounds lovely. And delicious.
I love your entire list, actually. Well, except for your being so busy, but really, that's pretty much standard. ;-) I think I owe you a proper e-mail, too. It's just kind of time for one. I'm off to Georgia tomorrow on one of those infamous early flights (6am; what was I thinking?), but will try to zip you some news at some point. Am looking forward to lovely Uhura fic and eventual Kirk/Spock fic (and would, of course, be happy to get previews if you need to bounce them off someone ).
I got so busy with work that I didn't have a chance to respond to your reply -- SORRY. How was your trip to Georgia, sweetie? Was it productive at HQ (that's where you went, right?)?
Regarding fic: I haven't made any progress at all since I posted. (sigh) I think I need advice on my two fics, though, so I might email or post a request soon, just to get something moving, even just a little.
Anyway. I'm missing you a lot. I hope your trip was/is wonderfully successful.
Thank you for the link to the Charter for Compassion! I affirmed it too (no. 51.921) and put a link on a page of my personal/job website at http://www.arielcaliban.org/caliban.htm for my students to see it. I hope that in the near future the import of the term "creature" will explicitly extend to non-humans. Quite illogically, mankind seems to be more interested in equal relationships with alien humanoids than with Terran non-humans. I love your Uhura, we all need to see more of her around. However, maybe you could get anaesthesia and pull those K/S teeh too, please...?
Hello, dear friend! Apologies for this late reply -- my work has been more crazily busy than usual and I was unable to come back to reply properly.
Thank you for signing the Charter for Compassion, and also for sharing your links to your personal/job website -- very fascinating! I am completely intrigued by the content I was able to understand (my Italian isn't the best).
To your point about the term "creature" -- YES, agreed.
To your lovely encouragement about my fics -- Thank you. I hope to get back to writing and making progress on both stories soon.
Oh, hon! I'm so sorry that your work is so stressful that you're practically in tears at work. It shouldn't be that way. At least this job is time-limited; when your contract is over, you'll be able to leave it behind you. I'm terribly sorry that you have to go through this right now, though. :-(
You sent me an email too, I saw, but I got so bogged down in work that I hadn't had a chance to respond. SORRY! I'm going to do that now, so look for an email from me.
