Act I, Scene 4

We are at a high point in the story, but there is still the reality that Kris is a married, "straight" man.

Whole Lotta Love Umm, yeah. Have fun writing the fanfic.

Music Again In terms of the music, there aren't many songs in this set could follow "Whole Lotta Love." "Music Again" is one of them. "What's really wonderful about it" Adam says, "Is that it's saying 'I love you so much; you're such a force in my life, that you make me want to listen to music again. That's how much I adore you.'"

In "Music Again" Adam sings I want your body, mind, soul, et cetera/And one day you will see, you should give it to me.... You're someone else's baby... But I'm so sick of living for other people/It took meeting you to realize/I don't want to lose you, I want to keep you... And I know that in some ways we're kind of evil/I've got my roots and you've got ties/But my heart's no stranger to upheaval.

It sounds like Adam is being fairly clear about what he wants from Kris. At the very least, he wants Kris all to himself, meaning that Kris would have to leave his wife. I get the sense, as well, that Adam is also asking Kris to "come out" to some extent. As he has said many times, Adam has never really been in the closet, so I'm assuming that he has some misgivings about being with someone who is.

Come Together "Come Together" is one of the few really happy songs that Kris ever sings, which is why I think it fits here. I don't really understand the meaning of the lyrics in "Come Together." But, as far as I can tell, nobody else really does either! Maybe that's the purpose of this song here. Kris just wants to be happy for a while.

Whataya Want From Me Adam says, "I feel like the song is so universal in its meaning, and so emotionally vulnerable and honest. When I first heard this song, I thought, you know, I think we've all been there--that place of emotional journeying and discovery and confusion. You meet somebody in your life who is special to you, and you don't want them to leave, but you don't quite understand why they're there in the first place...."
