One of my favourite telly programmes of the last year was Heston Blumenthal’s Search for Perfection. Green tea dumpling! Gazpacho sorbet! Paste of powdered garlic oil!

As you say, it was a toss-up between eating separate constituents separately (purity of taste = gorgeous) and putting 'em together on a fork (combination of tastes = gorgeous). The wine, as well as the food, became gradually denser, darker and muskier as the meal progressed. There was just enough time for anticipation to crank up before the next course arrived, was described and devoured. Each time, I reassessed all that had gone before, thinking, "no, this is the best course so far".

I really need to write a proper review once I've digested. As a total dining experience, it was unparallelled. Thankyou.
