I'm glad you're ok, though you shouldn't risk screwing yourself to save the guy some trouble; he rear-ended you while driving unsafely, after all.
Report the accident, and get it taken care of- chances are your bumper will need to be replaced (since it's designed to crumple/break in an accident) and depending on how hard and where he hit you you may have damage to the frame/chassis as well as possibly the rear suspension. With a new car especially (since you'll likely be driving it for another 5+ years) you want to make sure there isn't any residual damage.
