You Win Again, Nature! *shakes fist*

So last night I was just chillin' and playing some Dwarf Fortress when all of the sudden the power goes out. The terrible thing was it was only about 7:30 and it was already pitch dark (man, I hate the Winter). So I look around the house for some candles, a flashlight, anything and come up empty. My dad just left that morning to go on a business ( Read more... )

The DS has an alarm clock as well. It's all I use now since it has volume control.

Yeah, that was my secondary backup plan (and I have used it before), but I used the phone since I was in the process of draining the DS's batteries. :P

I didn't realize the put Chrono Trigger on the DS. Can't even begin to fathom how much I played it back in the day.

And call me crazy but I've always early nights of fall and winter. There's something about winters dusk that's always felt very tranquil to me.

Yeah, CT for the DS is pretty awesome. They added a bunch of animated cutscenes and added in some other extras like a monster arena and unlockable art and music.

The only thing I like about winter is that it tends to bring everyone closer together (lol, body heat). Being out here alone in the middle of nowhere kind of kills that.

I got the Playstation version when it came out. Because I wanted to see those cut scenes and it was bundled with Final Fantasy 2 (My personal fav with #3 in a very close second.) But the load times were atrocious! Did they add any more scenes? Or is it just the animated segments from the PS game?

Personally I've always liked the cold, for me the only down side to winter is that I'm not good at driving in the snow. But besides that it's great, come summer time I simply die. lol Maybe I should just take up permanent residence in Ice Crown? ^_-

Never played the PS version, but the cutscenes seem to mostly take place as character introductions (them finding Robo, Ayla saving them from the dinosaur people). Probably the same ones. The load times are just fine, though. One of the benefits of not running off a CD. :P

Ugh, weather. We've had nonstop rain and wind the last couple weeks. I just drove like 10 miles through flooded streets to get home. Not fun.

Here, the only close thing I experience was lights flickering once last night. I was once, "Uh oh." but then. . "Whew." when I realized lights were still on. xD But yeah, it's been getting pretty bad outside. . get yourself prepared, and hopefully you won't have to deal with another power outage!

Yeah, when I was living in Bremerton, I think we only lost power once in the 2 1/2 years I was there. We had a few brownouts, but not many. But out here in the Seabeck area, power outages seem like a weekly occurance. The one Monday night was one of the worst.

I have been thinking of getting some winter supplies. I need to see how that fits into my budget.

I wish it were pitch black here sometimes. Even in a power outage the road noise and light pollution make me kind of mildly sad that I'm so far away from nature. That's my fault for living in LA I suppose.

Yeah, even when I was living in Bremerton, it was fairly bright out all the time and you could never see the stars. Out here, though, you can see the Milky Way even.
