So remember when we were kids (if you're circa Dana aged), we all went to the dentist once a year? Everything was done during that one visit. For about the past 8 years or so, it became imperative that we go TWICE a year. Fine. Ohhhhf. I love the dentist and this wasn't me saying I MINDED, because i like having my teeth cleaned. I'd just like it to take half the time.

I haven't had my teeth cleaned since like, 1992. Apparently I WAY OVER BRUSH and tarter has no chance to grow. This habit came from the horrible pictures they showed me as a kid when I got braces, of what happen to mouths with braces who didn't brush. I also have no enamel though because of it so I probably have a mouthful of cavities and I should go get those filled but I fear the dentist. Just him looking in my mouth makes my teeth hurt! We have this guy in Pittsburgh that advertises 'sleep dentistry' but people I know who have gone to him say he wants to do 2k worth of stuff to your mouth just because you will be out. I can just about afford to have a cavity filled, with Novocaine.

hmm, got me on this one, but to add to it..Why would it take 2 appts to get them cleaned? I brush, floss etc and they clean the bottom during one appt and the top during the next appt the following week...I've NEVER had a cavity or anything like that, yet I have to do the dual appt..Riddle me that!

I've gone twice a year all my life. Xrays on the first visit, plus cleaning, and then just the cleaning the second visit, six months later. Although I have to say, I was at least 25 the first time a hygienist flossed my teeth for me. It freaked me out.

I have to go in there in a couple of weeks. Mine uses that baking soda blaster to clean my teeth. I'm glad - I always hated that purplish pasty stuff they wore in a ring. Blech.
