You can pretty much justify whatever you want, if that's what you want to see...I have enough friends with enough "alternative" OTPs to realize that...though it is fun to see it in thesis form.

to be fair, i think draco/hermione has several layers of rational behind it. as opposed to say, Snape/Whomping willow romances.
