I mentioned to myself in my paper journal today, that I only seem to find the time to write about things, when they aren't happening. When exciting events are swirling around my head, who has the time to sit down, think about them, and commit them to pen and paper, keyboard and computer screen? Not me, it seems ( Read more... )

I'll have you know that this city has beautiful summers, thank you very much.
And the last thing I need, is to go get attached to another freakin' city. Especially one as huge as that one. I think I'll stick to these two for the time being, thanks. :P

Yeah, I suppose the Mosquitoes do get kinda bad... But that's hardly a reason not to be here. You'd be hard pressed to find a city that didn't have bug problems during the summer.
Yes, well, why don't you go and fall in love with a couple of cities, and tell me how it is. :P

Duude, next week! Can you believe it? I am stoked.
I do feel you on the split-town thing. I really dont like Cinci but I do have a nice tree of friends and connections. So it makes it hard to leave indefinitely.

Yeah, it's exciting! I'm gonna go get tickets this afternoon.
That's exactly my problem, more or less. In my case, I do actually like Winnipeg, but I also really like Halifax. Here in Winnipeg, though, I have so many friends and places and things, more so then in Halifax. I could probably establish something similier in Halifax, but here, I already have it. Argh.

I'm excited too! We've got tickets as of this afternoon, and we're gonna have a grand time. I can probably arrange for a bike that you can borrow, too. Not a great bike, but one with two wheels that rides.

What I personally consider productive changes depending current goals and commitments. When I have a music performance coming up, not practicing is oftentimes not being productive. When a client needs a website done, not working on that website is not being productive. The crazy times come when I have more than one commitment or pressing goal at the same time. At other times, anything I find enjoyment and any kind of benefit in is productive, including reading anything at all, biking, laying around listening to music... :)

I agree with you there, Erin. When you do have pressing deadlines, it can be hard to find value in doing things not related to those goals. I still think there's something to be said for taking a few hours out of your day to have coffee with a friend, even if you have a bit essay due next week, though.
I suppose what I was lamenting were the sort of people who end up with a life where they never feel as though they can spare the time to consider laying around listening to tunes productive. Poor creatures.

I feel the same way. It's sad that some people don't know the importance of relaxing, and also of spending fun time with friends. There's really no point to life if you're not enjoying it, and I can't see how it would be enjoyable with a constant anal-retentive focus on production.

Exactly! Don't be so focused on working towards the future (schoolwork, job, etc.), that you are no longer able to enjoy the present.

Yeah, it's a tough call, I must say. Deciding between countries, though... That must be awefully tricky! Ezza and other such exciting things are in the States... What is it that keeps calling you back to Canada?
As for the photo, I unfortunately cannot actually claim credit for this one. The professor who teaches my photography class took it during a field trip. I could (and have) taken similer awesome photos, though.

p.s. I will once I find a bit of time to laze around in front of my computer.
