On Tuesday I went to see my PCP and got drugs for a sinus infection. I have sinus/allergy issues often, but rarely this kind of infection. I'm still in pain and relying on ibuprophen, despite starting antibiotics on Tuesday. I'm also taking Sudafed (the real behind the counter stuff) and using my neti. sinus pain has been crazy bad these past couple of snow storms. i had one right on wednesday night before this one rolled into town and i honestly thought i would throw up. what really helps a lot is indian oregano (ajmo). you can brew a broth with a pinch of tumeric, sea or rock salt, lemon/lime and ginger and if no sore throat a pinch of black pepper. does wonders. black tea also helps a lot. i've found steam to be helpful. i also use a waterpik with a sinus irrigator attachment which works much better than a neti pot. sudafed actually makes my symptoms worse and ibuprofen doesn't even touch the pain. i've noticed inara is the same way. her pain responds more to tylenol than motrin. i've found tylenol sinus to be the most effective at managing my sinus pressure/congestion pain with or without infections.

good luck i'm feeling your pain both sinus and child wakeups. i'm looking so forward to when they're teenagers and won't wake up at all.
