This sounds very upsetting and I hope it's nothing serious. My cats are 6 1/2 and they have also lately been showing less interest in their food. I'm not sure my current food routine is working. I'm pretty sure they're at the very bottom of their normal weight ranges but I am not feeling too many bones jutting out so I guess they're getting enough. It doesn't seem like they're eating much, because they ignore their wet food and only eat the dry. I am overdue for vet visits for both. Sigh. Hope you get good news at the vet.

I have a baby girl and I'm also scared of the day when my cats will pass away and how to handle that with her. I was raised without any pets at all. I only had pets starting at age 25. My mom wanted to shield us from pet loss since it really affected her when she was young, but my husband thinks this is part of life, and kids are resilient and need to learn the hard lessons young.
