3rd PLACE!!

I ran in the "Sunset at Pier 60" 5K at Clearwater Beach yesterday evening, and actually managed to get 3rd place in my age group!!! I was shocked

I really don't know much about competitive running. So upper teens doesn't sound too impressive? It's about the norm for high school? Hmm, interesting. I was really expecting the high school track girls to do better than low 30s for their time, because that's about what I've always done without training.

I don't remember what most of the placing times were, so I'm curious to see the results when they're posted. And also to see the number of participants in the different age groups.

any pictures? I suppose that would've been more difficult than if you were on a bike, though =)

no, sadly no pictures. And this was a pretty low-budget race, so I don't think they had a photographer either (which most of the races seem to). I would've really liked pictures of running on the beach during sunset.

yay for running on the beach! i try to do it here but if I don't get the tide right it's pretty steep, which is hard on my knees and ankles.

yea, running on an incline can be annoying, especially on the ankles. and running on sand is s great calf workout.... but i looove beach running! *love*
