Retirement looms
Yay for me. I submitted the paperwork for retirement today. My last working day will be August 31. After that I will be footloose and fancy free or at least available for lunch. -

Looks pretty certain that I'll be retiring from the library on September 1. I can't wait. Roger starts drawing social security this month so we'll have some additional income. I'm petitioning the bankruptcy court to reduce my payment since my income will be taking a significant hit, but I haven't heard any response yet. Still hopeful. I've ( Read more... ) -

It's been a hell of a fight, but Roger seems to be cured of his ventricular tachycardia. The ablation at the Cleveland Clinic did the trick. -

Monitor
Roger now has his Holter monitor to wear for the next month. Whenever he feels and episode of SVT coming on , he has to push a button on the monitor and call a number in Florida to transmit the data. The tech said that they weren't sure whether it would work with a cell phone so we should use our landline. We haven't had a landline for at least ( Read more... ) -
back to the hospital
Roger spent Saturday and part of Sunday in the ER again. He called me at work on Saturday saying that he had passed out twice while sitting in a chair and that his stomach nausea was getting worse. I hurried home and got him to the ER a little after 1:00 PM. After they checked him in, the techs took some blood and ran an EKG. Everything was ( Read more... ) -

Roger just called to tell me that he's cleaning out the refrigerator. Since we didn't have any power for 49 hours, everything must go. That's sad, because I went grocery shopping on Sunday and the power went out on Monday. I'm not sure whether the stuff in the freezer is any good, so we're going to dump all of it and start over. The colonoscopy is finished. I had the nurses laughing about my romantic bowel prep by candlelight and keeping the prep solution cold by putting it on the deck since there was no refrigeration. The doctor says the results look good. He removed 5 polyps, but none were malignant. He said two might be precancerous, but now they're gone, so no ( Read more... )
