Amy, I understand where your coming from, I've been through the same thing with Lendi except yours seems to be worse. But the worst thing to do at this point in time is not to blame yourself. You may not be blaming yourself but from this passage it seems as if you are. You gave him the chance of a lifetime, trust me I know, I've been there. You are a great friend and if he wants to screw the relationship between you two then let it be. He should appreciate you for taking up for him but then he stabs you in the back and makes you "look bad". When people know the whole story then they will find out who the bad person is. Your heart is broken and it will take a while to recover from what he did to you. But think, how bad do you think it made him look when he said that he was just with you to fuck you???
