Tell me about a story I haven't written and I'll give you a sentence (or a paragraph) from it.  You can be as detailed or as simple as you like.

I finally decided that I have the time to respond to these...so I hope you guys give me something to play with!

"What do you mean they don't have archery classes here?" Artemis cried.
"What do you need archery for?" Zeus laughed. "We have wands -- way more dangerous and definitely more fun. Look at what I just learned!" He raised his wand to point at the roast turkey on the table. Persephone glanced up and ducked, covering her head with her hands. Poseidon, sitting across the table, glanced up just in time to perform a flying leap across the table and tackle the wand out of Zeus's hand.
"10 points from Gryffindor! We will keep decorum at the dinner table!"
Everyone glared at Zeus.

I looked down and realized I was losing bills. I was leaving a trail behind me, like some type of strange bread crumbs. And the train was leaving in two minutes.

I scrambled back down my path, leaving my bags on the ground, sweeping up bills with my hands, shoving them in my pockets. At the same time I held the open seam in my skirt, making sure that nothing more would fall out. I didn't have any way to pin it -- at least nothing handy.

So it was with one hand hold my bags, and the other holding the edge of my skirt -- but not too high, mind -- I stepped onto the train as the whistle blew.

The one where the young college students living on a sailboat went out for a cruise and ended up sailing through a world gate.

Fog all looks the same. It's eerie, silvery, muting the world while highlighting sounds. Anything can happen in fog; that's why you always post a lookout.

I was the lookout that day. Dan was at the helm and Jen was below making some dinner for us all. All I saw was a strange sparkle in the air, almost like heat waves, maybe a foot in front of the boat. Then we sailed through it.

When we came out of the fog there was land on the horizon, but we didn't recognize its shape at all.
