Crappity, they show Fiorina slightly ahead of Boxer! If I wake up tomorrow and that harpy is my senator, it will suck almost all the joy out of Whitman's humiliating defeat.
The site shows precinct-by-precinct reporting results, so they can swing pretty wildly before settling down. I'm still expecting Boxer to pull it out. But if she doesn't... yay? We get what we deserve, which is a narcissistic CEO with a proven track record at sucking at everything she has done? And she's likely to be one of the more moderate members of the freshman Republican Senate class?
Call me really dumb, but I'm confused. I got email from Emily's List saying Boxer won the race, and CNN is calling the same win too. Yet, the figure from the link says Fiorina is ahead.
sfgate usually tabulates results by district as they come in, meaning that they can vary widely depending on whether a heavily Republican or Democratic district is reporting during the particular update. I don't like seeing it that close, though!
Never mind, I went to the site to check again. Looks like in 3 minutes of time, they updated Boxer ahead of Fiorina. I guess they were just lagging behind other sources in updating the final results.
I know what you mean by the close figures here. But I'm pretty sure Boxer won. I can't imagine Emily's List and CNN both make the mistake. I'm guessing they already have the final results, the site is just taking time to update everything.

But happy to know that the SFgate info doesn't necessarily reflect the actual winner.
