and laura. if you don't like the icon, you don't have to make a scene. i'm not saying you're overreacting. everyone, EVERYONE, is allowed to have an opinion. i have seen tons of political icons, its no big deal. whatever candidate you like is fine. i realize that you take it a tiny bit more personally than others and that is fine, i really don't want this to change anything though. honestly, i think of it more as a joke. i mean, i prefer bush a lot more than kerry. in fact i don't like kerry at all. but that's besides the point. i made that icon alongside burdette and i thought it would be funny if i put it up as my lj icon. i noticed that politics aren't discussed in public and that is logical. it makes a lot of sense. but still i don't think the icon is THAT big of a deal. and this icon is my default icon but i have others like this one that i wrote with this comment

Like I said in the other post, it doesnt bother me. I said that that is the kind of thing that COULD bring up controversey. I'm not making a scene. The length of the message was purely to explain my reasoning, not to attract more attention. and im not taking it personally either, I was more looking out for you than criticizing the icon. I was TRYING to tell you that having an icon like that can instill opinions in others of you that don't make sense or are wrong. I could care less if you said "Kerry could go to hell!" I don't really like either candidates, but that is my opinion. Please don't ascertain assumptions of my beliefs. I was merely trying to be nice. It just seems that you missinterpreted my message. Please don't denote the occurence of a scene either since it was not.
