tonight was incredible.

catherine and michael hosted a going away party for jodi at the rowlee's house. my mom and i went and were there from 7:30 to 11:30. it was... great. there were probably about 15 people there. when i first got there we just like stood around and ate and talked. then i went into the backyard with the few other teenagers there as well as mr. ward's son - kyle. so kyle insisted on starting a game of tag with the 4 or 5 of us out there and so we did. okay if you ever want to get in touch with your inner child, playing tag is the way to do it! so we're all running around having a great time when jodi comes out to join. my theory on her being a 14 year old trapped in a 37 year old's body was definitely confirmed! we had a blast.

THEN came the greatest part...

if you know jodi or mr. ward or michael then you know that you can't hang out with them without the drums being taken out. and turns out a whole bunch of other people brought drums and other cool instruments too. thankfully, there were plenty of djembes i could use (the african drum i play) so i could join in! so there i was, sitting in the rowlee's living room, playing jodi's djembe with TWELVE other people playing their djembes as well. jodi and michael played their tall drums that they brought while mr. ward sat in the middle with kyle and taught him some rhythms on the small fake djembes.

and so, we jammed. for soo long. every person with their own rhythm, but somehow they all meshed together perfectly.

time passed and the ward family had to leave, so jodi and i helped them to their car with kyle and joshua and all their drum stuff. after the ward's left, jodi and i decided to dance around the coldasac because it was beautiful out tonight. when we got tired, we went inside and just hung out and talked and acted like nerds - ya know, the usual.

i had such a great time. and i know my mom did too, especially after i taught her how to pick up some basic rhythms when we were all jammin!

gosh, i'm going to miss jodi like CRAZY when she leaves. i honestly don't know what i'm going to do without being able to see her almost every single day...

OH and 42nd street was AWWWWESOME this afternoon!!!! it was sooo much freakin fun with my buddies up in that private balcony room!

love to all!

goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow!
