Well, should we perhaps drag Kristian along to the gig at the Troubsy and buy him birthday beers? That way it won't be an explicitly "celebrate Kristian's birthday" event, but he still should have a good time (seriously, who wouldn't have a good time at that gig?) and will feel somewhat acknowledged but not overwhelmed? What do you think? I can drive the boy so he can drink his beers.
I agree with Qualie in some much as doing something nice like birthday beers at least acknowledges his birthday without making too much fuss about it. Maybe even like a big casual dinner at Fat Boys before the gig at Troubadour on Sunday night. Invite peeps along just for dinner, without stating that we are planning this for his birthday. Then we can each casually buy him a drink and quietly wish him happy birthday without making a big thing about it.
I do think it should be acknowledged. He may just not want to do anything about it because he thinks if he has a party, no one will come, so if he does nothing, he can't be disappointed. It could be a self protection thing.
I am feeling very wise at the moment... I was giving a male friend girl advice last night that was probably very hard to listen to, but very very close to the truth and what he needs to hear, so he stopped replying to me on msn so I hope he is okay today.
subtle note in there about the Mitchell date eh Sam? let us know how it goes... kissy poo poos
Yes dinner at Fatboys sounds good before the gig. Nice suggestion Ley. Sam do you want to invite peeps or get Kristian to do it? Will he invite people? Or will you have to do it for him?
well..... i asked him...dancing_beastMay 17 2006, 23:30:53 UTC
I mean; for all we know his parents might have organised a nice family dinner......
But I asked him anyway...... also asked rat if they have anything planned for him..... as for other peeps.... I don't have leons, blakes or lindsay's numbers the only one I have is zacs, I don't particularly want to call him and ask him....
In the end it's up to him.... by him I mean kristian...

haha!!! nice work on the dynamite quote-)
now when I look at a penguin I think of myself... why is that? ALSO Why is it that when ever I look at a giraffe it reminds me of the grates... what do the grates have in common with giraffes?
Is it only because they have a giraffe on the cover of their cd.. or does it go deeper than that?

It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.
It took me like three hours to do the shading on his upper lip.
