You're right - totally unlike my idea, but I like the images you use. We both sort of latched on to a universal hopelessness in the song which just goes to show you that Mogwai is thorough in their evocativeness. Some day I'd like to be able to bring my ideas to celluloid. Kudos to you! I wish I could have seen it!

a. I, too, like Mogwai; I think Mogwai Fear Satan is my favorite song.

ii. This is a really cool idea; I should totally try that with some of my posted tunage... *wheels turning* Didja listen?

ok, first of all, i heart mogwai.
second of all, i heart sine waves.
third of all, i think that's their best album.
fourth of all, my pipe dream is to become a music video director, so i totally appreciate this post.

Mogwai is pretty much amazing. But I have a dirty secret: I definitely discovered them because of the song "Take Me Somewhere Nice" which was in a Sex and the City episode. I am so not as cool as I pretend to be. As for their best album, I'm often torn between Rock Action and Happy Songs, because I think the first has more stand-out songs, but the second is a better album as a whole.

Incidentally, this post wasn't something I just cooked up and wrote down. It's the documentation of an actual performance I did for a class yesterday. It rocked pretty hard core.
