I really have to stop bumping my arm against the edges of the oven when I am taking yummy things out. I just get so distracted by the sights of cupcakes/casseroles/other-oven-baked-things that I don't pay attention to where my arms are and YIKES! Burn! By the end of the year my right arm is just going to be a mess of scar tissue comprised of thin ( Read more... )

I have been trying to photograph them lately, but I'm not completely happy with how the photos look. And I have been really awful with pictures lately! I still have photos on my camera from August, sigh.

I am the same way. :/

I hope you'll post some anyway sometime, though! Everything you make sounds so good. Do you have any particular vegan / vegetarian cookbooks you'd recommend? Veganomicon?

Veganomicon is awesome, as well as the other books in the series (Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World and Vegan with a Vengeance). They are the only cookbooks I've found so far where I can find a ton of recipes that I want to try. They're also nice because they don't tell you to go out and buy fake meat products, everything is stuff you can make (or like, you could buy sausage crumbles if you want, but they also provide a recipe for tempeh sausage crumbles). I just got Vegan Planet from the library, which is supposed to be good. I like to use recipes from teen cookbooks and modify them to be vegetarian/vegan, since the recipes are usually pretty simple and consist of things I have around the house. Also the Post-Punk Kitchen forums have a bunch of recipes. Oh! And if you google "vegan dad", you'll find my second favorite vegan food blog (the first being Isa Chandra Moskowitz's).

Oh man, I do that. I also seem to very regularly bump my elbow on the hot iron when I am ironing work clothes. My elbows have all these weird iron scars.
