My house smells like graham crackers and molasses. Probably because I just finished baking the s'mores cupcakes but who knows, it could be anything. Unfortunately I have to wait until tomorrow to eat them because I am too sleepy to pipe out thousands of pounds of buttercream frosting tonight. Woe is me ( Read more... )

I didn't do the poll because I love your food posts and don't care if it's in this journal or if you create a separate food journal. I'd read both! :)

I love Earth Balance, it's so goddamn good.

Have you ever made your own bread? If not, you have to! I think you'd love it and homemade bread tastes SO much better.

I still haven't tried cooking seitan yet. I'm curious!

I guess you are vegan right? I eat a mostly vegan diet but definitely am not vegan. I do consume sugar that is processed with bone char... and I consume honey. I am slowly starting to consume other things again as long as it's local. Seafood and eggs will eventually be added back into my diet. Milk... don't miss that at all though. I was at one point very into becoming vegan but now I'm a bit more about local foods so I'm trying to find a balance. It has been tough!

*sigh* Food. I'm glad to know someone else is just as obsessed, haha.

I'm sort of easing myself into veganism. I've already been vegetarian for about 4 years and have completely cut out eggs. It's better for me not to eat dairy anyway, since I'm lactose intolerant. Ideally I would like to be completely vegan, but I think if I take my time it will stick better. It took me many tries to go vegetarian!

We actually have a breadmaker and I've been thinking about busting that out of the closet. I think I will eventually make my own bread, but right now I am kind of lazy. Do you use a book or anything for bread recipes?

I was never obsessed with food until I started making my own. Then I was like, holy crap! Food is awesome!!!

Yeah that's probably the best way to go at it! I was once a mostly vegan for like two years back in Pennsylvania. I went from meat eater to vegetarian overnight and then stayed that way for two years while slowly eating more and more vegan dishes. Then I ended up going through a divorce and started eating meat again. Then two months ago I decided to go all the way to veganism! But then I started getting into local foods and kind of trying to figure out what feels right for me. One day I may decide that total veganism is the way to go... who knows. It's all a learning experience ( ... )

I voted yes, but not because I am annoyed by your food-related entries here! I love reading about food anywhere and everywhere. :)
