I found a really amazing place on craigslist and emailed the people renting. I don't think I'll get it because of my age (they are all 6-8 years older than me] and because they want someone to move in a couple weeks before I am able to. But there's an apple tree! And a chicken coop (with 5 hen friends!)! It's close to everything that I want to be ( Read more... )

GO TO READING FRENZY, DO IT. And Powells books, I think you might have a heart attack but they're RIGHT next to each other. Reading Frenzy is next to a pizza place and right down the street from where I used to work. I miss powells like fucking whoa. I'm jealous, I want to visit again. You'll find a place no problem, I really believe that. I can't wait for you to post about your trip!

If I die from a book-induced heart attack, I am going to haunt you for the rest of your life.

We have a small-ish Powells in Chicago so I am very excited to see the gigantic original.

Your brother is in Portland? I didn't know that.

STEPHANIE, IF YOU DIE FROM DYSENTERY, I WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED. REMEMBER: DO NOT FORD THE RIVER! ALWAYS CAULK & FLOAT ACROSS!

You didn't know that because it's not true! He lives with my parents and me in the Chicago suburbs. But it will be the first time in years that either of us have had s'mores because I've been vegetarian/vegan for 4 years and he's been vegetarian for... 3 years? 3.5 years? I don't know!

You can't tell me how to cross rivers! If it's only 2 feet deep than fording is fine! AND DYSENTERY RULES!

I actually have a tendency to kind of forget that he is. It's weird because we've never really discussed it and we are very different with our eating habits. He eats primarily cheese, fake meats, and grocery-store desserts while I prefer to eat vegetables and cook meals. Also, he is weirdly adverse to veganism.
