i know.. it seems that only uneducated completely mentally retarded (and I NEVER say that) people are allowed to be in charge and apparently tell me what I can and cannot do with my body. Plus all the information they have is totally incorrect. So what ARE my rights as a woman again?

Women are either whores or wives, duh.

You should read The Age of American Unreason by Susan Jacoby. It mentions that most presidents tried to be on the forefront of science or, if they didn't understand it, would just not say anything at all. As opposed to now where we have a president who thinks that the jury is still out on evolution.

I know it won't pass, but it's still absolutely horrifying that the legislation was written up.

I really hope that the next administration will get rid of fucking bullshit abstinence-only education so people can start learning about birth control again. I keep reading things about how condoms won't protect against HIV, which is insane because HIV is actually what condoms are most effective against. I think I remember Obama saying that he wanted comprehensive sex education for all ages (and some people flipped their shit, but whatever) and I hope that, if elected, he actually does do that. Because it's really, incredibly important.

I will never understand why conservative/pro-life people are so against birth control and welfare programs for children. It's so obvious how contradictory that is!

Oh man, it is so bizarre. One of my favorite things about England is that you can get any birth control device or perscription you could want absolutely free on the government's dime. We've still got the highest rate of teen pregnancy in Europe, but whatever, my fancy expensive pills are free!
