after work went to Campbell's to pick up a metronome, and a "Teach Yourself to Drum book"
read background of drumming
learned how to hold sticks, both traditional way and matched way
learned how to properly strike the drum
in the process of learning the basic stroke pattern, can play it slow - medium, working on playing it fast
