Summer's End

Our endless summer is finally coming to an end. Mornings are just a little bit crisper--and begin noticeably later. It's full dark by 7 p.m. (we don't "save" daylight here). The last of the monsoon is rolling in, but will be gone in a day or two. It was a long and productive one this year. The weathergods were good to us.

We're in Indian summer here--glorious 75-degree days, cool nights, early leaves falling, vivid red color showing up here and there. The grass is beginning to crunch underfoot. Dare is turning into a Plush Pony already (rumor is it will be a hard winter here), but Mae is still sleek.

aahhhhhhhh.

I still have winter blanket from LAST winter hanging out on the back side of the barn to wash and clean.

I always forget/conveniently delay until October. SOME YEAR I WON'T DO THIS.

thanks for the reminder :D we're just dropping temps today with the storm, was 87 most of the week. *fans self*

Oh, how lovely!

I wish we'd had rain instead of humidity. Truly a punishing summer, but ours isn't over yet. There's still the Sana Ana season to get thru. (And I'm so glad to be heading east away from it)
