Needs more human romance subplot and exposition by 'expert' characters.
But seriously, if the do another trilogy, there's more than enough existing canon for them to disregard use.
Hey, the next plot could be about discovering the other other other Transformers that are already on Earth, but whom Optimus wasn't told about. A ship that crashed even before Megatron, or Sentinel, or the Primes or Seekers were there scouting for Suns to harvest...a time when beasts roamed the Earth.
