… there’s only one reason for choosing a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, islamophobic, narcissistic felon over a dedicated, honest, inclusive civil servant who happens to disagree with you on a few policy issues.
I didn't look at all last night, but have been a mess all day after seeing the news.
I had a bad feeling ever since I talked to my cleaner, an intelligent 38-yr-old African American woman raising four daughters on her own, who started her own business during the pandemic and made a success of it. She wasn't planning to vote because she didn't like Trump, but was afraid that Kamala "might start a war if she had PMS at the wrong time." If a Black woman won't vote for a Black woman for a stupid sexist reason like that, it probably was hopeless.
I can’t understand the mindset of some (make that “many”) people. Every other developed country on this earth can respect female leaders. Then again, every other developed country on this earth has universal health care. Maybe in a few hundred years, we’ll catch up.
And, being that Harris is 60 years old (not a spring chicken although significantly younger than her opponent), does someone honestly think she’s prone to PMS? Hot flashes, okay. But PMS?
I once read someone responding to the idea that women shouldn't be leaders because of their hormone cycles with "oh, then all leaders should be postmenopausal women, since they are much less hormonal than either men or younger women."
Good response. Besides which, can anyone claim, with a straight face, that Harris’s opponent, at any age, ever had the least bit of control over his hormones?
