Oh, California.

I'm so very disappointed in you right now, Obama brought me high, and you took me back down that roller coaster. What's next...banning the way other people worship? How about the diversity of what we read, or say? 'Cause once you start removing rights, it's a long slippery slope to things even worse ( Read more... )

I know realistically that it's going to go to the lawyers now, and it'll finally be able to be dragged in front of the Supreme Court, and it'll probably get overturned. But in how many years, and for how many millions of dollars that could go to other things that fighting stupid, bigoted crap that should never get made into law in the first place.

That, and I'm not looking forward to the self-congratulatory smugness that will permeate the area from the self-righteous twats that voted for the abomination. I'm going to get into a lot of fights in the next 24-48 hours.

So, with that statement, I can see that you've never spent any amount of time in Northern VA? There are more then a fair amount of gay and bisexual couples here that you might find surprising.

We need a test case.

We need to find a church that will perform a gay marriage, and then have them challenge the proposition the grounds of church vs. state.

You want separation of church and state? wiltherran November 5 2008, 18:10:41 UTC
Stop issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships.

Tax everyone equally (no different columns, no tax breaks, just a flat fucking tax with no fucking loopholes for anyone rich or poor)and require people to put in writing who inherits what, and who has power of attorney should they be incapacitated in the hospital... ta da! Now go worship and marry in whatever church you feel like, or not. Just as the founders of the constitution intended.

Get the F'ing government out of the marriage business
