I have two highlights of the day. One, I met Glenn at work who does Thermal/Fluid work, which I find exciting. He gave me steam tables for helium. And two, Laura spontaneously inviting Garry, Jen, Chris, Rebecca, Julie, and Cara over, playing Imaginiff, seeing how things have changed and having fun anyway.

Today, I sat in a room with 7 other engineers/draftspeople/production workers/etc and we talked about tolerance. We read a book and looked at slides. It was a discussion group, they said, more than a meeting. Tolerance, very important in the workplace. Geometric, that is!

We played our requisite Memorial Day game of croquet in CT (I placed second, w00t!) and had a BBQ. Anyway, my grandpa has a wonderful quote: "Google is both my short term and long term memory." It made me smile :).

Highlight of the day: Talking to Karen via GoogleTalk. It was refreshing. I miss her and it's so much fun to talk and laugh, and (to borrow a Jeff Tai-ism), live life together.

Today was my first day of work at Intermagnetics. It seems like a good time to start; there was an article yesterday that their profit had grown 153% in a year. I really like it thus far. I was packing/unpacking some things and I found my MagnaDoodle :). On it, at some point during this year, I had written "Magnets at work" and drawn an illustration. The irony is that tomorrow I'll be starting my internship at Intermagnetics, where I'll be working with magnets!

When my cousin Michelle and I were in middle school, we made a pact. We were going to be different. We were going to _not_ be engineers, like the rest of our family.
