A/N: Rather short chapter, started and finished in ~90 minutes. Cameo from Henry, don't worry, he will come back <333; Expect another update today? I'm in a really really super good mood, the ideas just come to me. Comments are <3'd. Thank you readers for reading and giving me confidence to continue writing.

Kyuhyun looked at the oversized bunny doll Sungmin was cradling in her arms after he had won some water gun competition. Kyuhyun himself was holding onto a half eaten cotton candy and a medium sized blue dinosaur doll.

“Kyuhyun-ah.” Sungmin tapped his shoulder with the doll. The floppy ears brushed against his face momentarily before the soft surface retracted. “I just wanted to say thank you.”

Kyuhyun hated being lost for words, it sometimes made him feel inferior and pathetic.

“Why would you thank me?”

“I know I’m hard to deal with sometimes, and I’m honestly trying to change my snobbish attitudes at life.” The doll drooped to the ground, its white, fluffy feet mere inches from contact with the dirty pavement. “I just wanted to say thank you for spending the day with me.”

A pang of guilt hit Kyuhyun, particularly at some of the nasty remarks he had made about her.

Indeed, a simple favour, lending a hand in times of need would make someone smile. Just a half hearted action can make someone else’s life that much better. Kyuhyun could not deny that he had fun in the process, but seeing a grateful of Sungmin really made their get-together that much more meaningful.

“Sungmin-ah.” Kyuhyun had been oblivious to the wet patches on her face. “Sungmin...”

“Can you hold me?” Sungmin’s faint plead was barely audible against the howling wind that picked up in velocity.

The pair went back to Kyuhyun’s place, where Kyuhyun had Sungmin later pleading for mercy, her soft voice replaced by her usual bitchy, sarcastic tone as she needed more pressure, more contact, more heat.

The handle on the cotton candy became quite handy to say the least, and Kyuhyun definitely enjoyed both flavours of delicacy on the paper handle.

Even with Sungmin’s changing nature, which Kyuhyun found hard to believe in the first place, Jongwoon, or Yesung for that matter, still lingered in Kyuhyun’s mind.

He wondered how the man was feeling, whether he had recovered from his fever, and was Ryeowook still with him? Was he still thinking about Youngwoon?

Questions he would have considered to be weak and pathetic, because real men forgot their feelings and moved forward with business. Kyuhyun had long abandoned that theory, because it had him feel robotic, like a toy running on chains that constantly required tuning up. Cho Kyuhyun was more than just a toy running on batteries, mindless and oblivious to only serving Heechul.

Kyuhyun thought about what Henry had told him, the young, charming, Chinese man using his innocence and vulnerability to gain valuable information. Not the mention he was a superb actor, churning out tears on the spot if so desired. Henry was essentially his right hand man, Kyuhyun would never once suspect his loyalty to himself.

“So Youngwoon is piling up another bundle of loans?” Kyuhyun said softly into his cell phone.

“Yes, and by the looks of it.” Henry suddenly faked a sob into the phone. Silence ensured for half a minute. “It’s not looking light at the rate he’s gambling.”

“Okay, do you have someone ready?”

“Poised and ready for action. You give the order, it will be done. Virtually nothing happened, one less file to be processed.” Henry said confidently. “They should be happy we’re helping them clean up their filing cabinents.”

“Remind why I love you so much again?” Kyuhyun laughed casually.

“Because I’m awesome?” The younger man giggled as well. “Well, I should go now.”

“Stay safe, okay?”

“Don’t worry; I will never put myself in danger for you.” Henry giggled again. “You’re not worth it.”

He had never needed to mask on his strict persona with Henry, because the Cantonese man was real with him. His other followers, Kyuhyun could not say the same. Kyuhyun hung up and flipped through his contacts until Jongwoon’s number had been highlighted.

He pressed the red button after he had dialled Yesung’s number. It just didn’t feel right. There was a difference between Jongwoon and him. He was supposed to be the evil antagonist that pins him up against a corner, rendering him helpless and frightful.

Moments later, his phone vibrated as the number read Jongwoon on the caller ID.

Maybe it did feel right, being with Jongwoon and Ryeowook, and his other two friends Donghae and Siwon. Maybe there is a gray area between right and wrong. Kyuhyun brought up the blue dinosaur doll as Yesung flailed his arms in delight, squealing about how he has a pair of them now.

Maybe it made him feel humane. But he finally decided on acting on an action he had been debating about. He excused himself and dialled a number on his cell phone.

“You have it ready, yes?”Kyuhyun asked with a smirk on his smile.

“So, what you’re saying is that, what’s his name again?”

“Kyuhyun. Cho Kyuhyun.” Leeteuk responded as he saw fit.

“Right. So you’re telling me Kyuhyun and Sungmin are going out.”Hankyung repeated the list of events Leeteuk had seen.

“Yes Hankyung. And by the looks on their faces, they looked really happy together at the carnival.”

“But happy is a short lived burst of emotion, right?” Hankyung frowned, followed by an onslaught of Chinese words. “An illusion of the cruelties of what life is really about. Fragments of shattered memory, cradled in nothing but broken strands of sorrow, nestled in a makeshift nest of fragile twigs.”

“What?” Eunhyuk accidentally slipped out.

“Ah, right. You weren’t here when it happened.” A hint of vendetta lingered on each and every Korean word that came out of Hankyung’s mouth. His cold stare paralleled his equally emotionless self.

“No sir.” Eunhyuk faltered back. “I’m sorry, sir.”

“Hankyung, he’s still a young one, I’ll-” Leeteuk began when Hankyung cut him off.

“Eunhyuk, would you like to know why happened?” Neither Leeteuk nor Eunhyuk could tell whether the man was being serious. That was another shade of Hankyung that made him really intimidating. His showcasing of his tone made it near impossible to decipher his meaning, his broken Korean sometimes adding onto the mystical effect.

Eunhyuk gave Leeteuk a blank stare, his eyes wide and confused. He looked like a student being put on the spot in front of a principal.

“You can talk to me, or am I that intimidating?” Hankyung stood forward and cupped Eunhyuk’s chin in his ragged hand. “Are you going to answer me?”

“No. No sir.”

“Is that a response for the first or the second question? Or the third question.” Hankyung gave a cold hearted laugh. “You know, I think Sungmin will fall for a guy like you.”

His eyes lit up as he nodded his head to himself, leaving both his lieutenants more confused.

After he hung up his phone, Kyuhyun went back and pulled Yesung aside, the pair of them skidding off to the bedroom. Ryeowook looked concerned momentarily before Yesung reassured him he’d be fine. Ryeowook softened while he went back to the gaming system Siwon brought up.

“Thanks for that, Jongwoon-sshi.” Kyuhyun tightened his grip around the man’s thin biceps.

“You have done so much more for me.” Yesung looked down onto the ground. “The least I could do was keep my friends from being snappy with you.”

Kyuhyun leaned forward and whispered something quietly into his ear, because all walls have ears and leaky information would put both of them in trouble.

Yesung’s eyes widened after receiving the news.
