Title: Candlelight
Rating: G
Genre: Romance
Pairing: Kyumin
A/N: Oneshot, unedited short piece while listening to the SorrySorry remix. Sorry if it's bad but I just drabbled on about how I felt while listening to the song. Please don't hurt me if it's awful, I'm not really thinking straight while I wrote this.
The candlelight flared brightly in the dim room. The pair of wine glasses arranged beside the candles, a bottle of red wine opened and airing inside a flask. The cloth on top of the plate arranged into a blooming flower.
Scattered dried flower petals decorated the pure white tablecloth. The faint aroma of roses and lavender danced around the utensils, leaving their faint scent on the metal. The ruby red silk drapes covered each full length window, the gold stitches radiating its brilliance against the dark red fabric.
The chandelier shimmered brightly by candlelight, each crystal reflecting the light as it casted faint rainbows around the room. The black grand piano stood gloriously in the center of the room on top of a rotating platform, the antique wooden chairs against the side of the room added a final touch of elegance.
Perfection. Everything was perfect. The piece was almost complete. It just needed the main character to complete the picture. It just needed the person destined for this masterpiece.
Kyuhyun stood beside the piano, pondering about his arrangement, whether this was enough for his love. His hand reached up and fixed his tie and tugged on his amber cufflinks. Everything needed to be perfect down to the last thread.
The door creaked open as a ray of light shot into the room. Everything was in place. Everything was ready. This was it. Kyuhyun took a deep breath as a head poked inside the room.
Sungmin had a mix of surprise and confusion on his face. His look of surprise slowly faded as he noted his surroundings. His head looked up at the chandelier as his lips curved into a small smile, his eyes glistening as he slowly understood what was happening. He opened his mouth but no words came out as he circled around the majestic room on the spot.
Sungmin walked over to the table as the door slowly closed, instantly ridding the room of extraneous light. His wispy touch traced over the wine glass and the table cloth, leaving a crease on the crisp fabric. His delicate fingers picked up a dried petal and brought it to his nose, inhaling the flowery scent. His head turned around as he saw Kyuhyun standing in front of the piano.
Kyuhyun walked over to Sungmin as they met in the center of the room.
Sungmin looked up at the taller boy. His eyes beaming with happiness, his bangs perfectly and neatly arranged, his lips glossy with a hint of lip gloss. His hand reached into his left pocket and pulled out the small white card.
Kyuhyun grabbed his wrists and looked straight into his eyes as the card fell to the ground, drifting along the currents of the room. The sparkle in his eyes told him nothing but pure happiness. Instinctively he pulled his arms out of Kyuhyun’s grip as the two embraced, their arms wrapping around each other’s body as the grand piano began playing its tune. Their embrace never breaking as the soft music echoed inside the room, their bodies moving as one against the melody. Every step they took, their embrace tightened. Nothing else mattered right now. Nothing else in the world was more important to Kyuhyun right now.
Kyuhyun held Sungmin’s face with his hand as he slowly stroked his cheek. Their eyes connected again as a shade of pink immediately flushed his cheek as he buried his head into Kyuhyun’s embrace.
Kyuhyun opened his mouth to whisper into his ear when Sungmin looked up, breaking their embrace, as if he knew what the boy hand in mind. His bottom lip quivered as he opened his mouth.
“Yes...”
Everything was perfect.
