Title: First Snow
Pairing: KangSung
Rating: G
Genre: Friendship, Romance if you read carefully
A/N: Plotless fluff, one shot, unedited. Kangin acts like a kid with Yesung because he's adorable like that. Any comments are much appreciated. I'm totally in love with this pairing right now. <333
“Hyung!! Look it’s snowing!” Kangin pointed out as the two of them left the studio after finishing their recording. Yesung carefully closed the door without it slamming as Kangin pranced into the majestic hall, his gaze outside at the storm of snowflakes. He turned around and gazed dreamily at Yesung, his eyes shimmering with happiness.
Yesung raised an eyebrow and gave him a weird look. Everyone in their group knows that Yesung hates the cold.
“Hyung ah… it’s the first snow of the year.” Kangin couldn’t control his excitement in his voice. Snow meant that some of their schedules will get cancelled so they would get more free time, and snow meant a lot of pranks of the other members.
“It’s so white and fluffy and beautiful.” Kangin chirped, unable to control his excitement even though he knew Yesung hated the cold. The first snow of the year was always the most beautiful, how it delicately coated everything in a white fairy dust.
Hyung, I’m glad I got to see it with you.
These small moments didn’t seem important, but to Kangin they meant a lot. Especially since it was a moment he got to share with Yesung alone.
“But it’s so wet and cold and mucky…” Yesung mumbled as he put on his vest. “I don’t get why you people like the cold...”
Kangin walked back to his hyung and grabbed him by the shoulder. “It’s fun and we can throw snowballs at Sungmin and Ryeowook and them.”
“Mmmm yeah, and end up having Kyuhyun shove snow down your back is equally fun.” Yesung shuddered as he recalled a memory of Leeteuk screaming his lungs out as the magnae dumped snow down his back after he threw a snowball at Sungmin.
“It’s cold outside; make sure you zip up properly.” Yesung wrapped his scarf around his neck and zipped up his jacket.
The two of them walked outside to the parking lot where their company car was waiting. Kangin shivered the whole time as he held his head down, his whole body jittering from the cold wind. He didn’t wear enough layers because it was a hassle and he didn’t like carrying a lot of stuff with him. He began trailing behind Yesung as he walked slower and slower, each step in the cold making it harder and harder.
Cold. Cold. Cold. Why is it so cold… ahhh…
Suddenly he felt something warm placed on his neck. Yesung had seen him shiver and he had taken off his scarf and placed it around his neck.
“I told you to wear more when we left this morning.” Yesung wrapped it around Kangin as he scolded the younger boy, “but you never ever listen to me.” He pulled tightly on the fabric as it snuggled nicely around Kangin, keeping him warmer then before.
Yesung picked up his pace as they walked to their car, Kangin trailing his path as his hands held onto the scarf delicately. He pressed the side of his check against the warm wool as he snuggled against it, as if the scarf was Yesung himself.
Hyung…
“Youngwoon ah…” Yesung stopped again in his path as he stood there impatiently. His hand grabbed Kangin’s hand as he dragged the boy faster towards their car. “You will seriously freeze if you walk so slow, let’s go.”
He pulled the younger boy as Kangin fumbled around, half dragged by Yesung and half trying not to slip on the wet ground. Kangin felt safe and warm when he was with Yesung, he just had this aura of tranquility and that made Kangin feel protected no matter what happened. Kangin could just take off his mature mask and act like a dongsaeng again.
Hyung…
They climbed into their minivan as the two settled in the middle row. Yesung quickly took off his jacket as he turned up the heat almost instantly. The warm air hissed out of the air vents as Yesung sighed happily.
The warm interior of the car instantly had a drowsy effect on Kangin as his eyes fluttered, struggling to keep open. Kangin began dozing off as they headed back to the dorm.
“Yahh what are you doing.” Yesung said softly as he shrugged off the boy as Kangin rested his head on his shoulder.
“I’m tired…” Kangin yawned as he rested his head on Yesung’s shoulder again, his hand rubbing his eye sleepily. Yesung’s face softened as he nodded his head at his shoulder, as if granting him permission.
Kangin cuddled next to his hyung as Yesung wrapped one arm around him. After a while Yesung’s head was resting on top of Kangin’s head as the car continued to take them home.
Kangin clutched the scarf tightly as he closed his eyes. He couldn’t be happier as he mentally recorded this moment, imagining the sight as he dozed off to sleep.
