“I’m sorry…” His lover’s voice whispered softly against the silence of the night.
Sungmin tilted his head to the side to avoid his gaze. His heart wretched in pain as his grip tightened on his blanket. The familiar emotions rushed through Sungmin within seconds. The same pain lurched in his stomach, grumbling and fighting with his heart. His fingers tangled with the soft fabric, his mind went numb with pain.
A soft hand began dabbing at the mess on his face, the sweet aroma wafting into the air. Shutting his eyes tightly, Sungmin tried to block out the smell of his lover, the sounds of his breathing, the touch of his hand, everything of his lover. Shut. Him. Out.
No strings attached, right Minnie?
But Sungmin wasn’t as strong as he thought he was. He couldn’t do it with no strings attached. He couldn’t resist falling in love with this man. He couldn’t do it.
Yes hyung. No strings attached.
Unconsciously, tears began escaping the corner of his eye as it rolled down his rosy cheek. After every night, Sungmin told himself he would stay strong, no strings attached, yet at the end of the next session Sungmin couldn’t help but cry himself to sleep. Today was no different. The cycle of their night sessions continued on and on.
He heard the door click as his lover left his room. After every session he would leave and pretend nothing happened, it was who he was. Someone strong and masculine, someone who doesn’t put a lot of care and attention on minor things, and someone who didn’t really care about how he felt. Afterall, no strings attached, right Minnie?
“Kangin hyung…” Sungmin whispered to himself as hushed himself to sleep.
Are there really no strings attached between us?
