Popcorn Craze
Kangin groaned the minute Teukie hyung told him and Yesung to go pick popcorn for the movie marathon tonight. Yesung fluttered around the circular shop, as if he were running laps around the plastic shop, his eyes never leaving the different types of popcorn presented on the window.
“Yahh you... can you hurry up.” Kangin impatiently tapped his foot as his eyes flared with anger. He was always like this, so indecisive and picky.
“Shut up idiot. I don’t know which one to pick for Wookie and Minnie.” Yesung snapped back, not bothering to look at his dongsaeng.
“Yah you idiot, just pick the pink one for Minnie, the cotton candy one.” Kangin pointed at the slide of pink popcorn, “He’ll like it cuz it’s pink and that sweet tooth of his will agree. And you live with him and you still don’t know his taste.”
“Which one?” Yesung was frustrated. He kept on pointing between Salt & Vinegar, 3 Cheese or Dill Pickle and Cucumber.
“That one right in front of your big ugly face.” Kangin shot back. He handed the owner his credit card to pay for the 4 barrels he’s chosen.
“Fine, and I’ll take the Dill Pickle and Cucumber for Wookie.” Yesung announced happily as he clapped his hands and jumped up.
“Good riddance can we PLEASE go home now?” Kangin grumbled impatiently, they’ve spent a good 15 minutes already picking popcorn.
“No, I still have to pick the one I want.” Yesung stuck out his tongue as he circled around the shop again. Kangin sighed as the shop owner laughed light heartedly with him.
“He’s a kid even though he’s older than me...” Kangin shrugged his shoulders. The shop owner laughed again and smiled.
“You guys look adorable together.” The old man said softly. “It’s like a big brother taking out his little brother out shopping.”
“Yah I would never be his older brother, it would suck having him as a dongsaeng. He would be those annoying types that won't shut up about everything.” Kangin blurted out.
“Shut up you raccoon, I heard that.” Yesung yelled from across the shop.
The shop owner laughed again as Kangin stomped madly on the ground.
“Mister, can I get a bucket of Buffalo Wings and a bucket of Peppermint Breeze.” Yesung ran back over to where Kangin was waiting. “There you big raccoon, I’m done now are you happy?”
“Why did you pick two. We have enough already. Just choose one.” Kangin ordered as the owner stopped scooping, awaiting Yesung’s answer.
“Well if you’re willing to wait another 5 minutes while I decide, I guess I could make a decision, but that’s assuming if I don’t find something else, or else it’ll tak-”
“Never mind, just get both of them.” Kangin freaked out at the thought of waiting another 5 minutes, every passing second felt like an eternity. The shop owner let out a small chuckle as he finished getting the Peppermint Breeze popcorn. “I’m so freaking scared of you right now.”
“I love you too!!” Yesung grabbed the buckets he ordered in his arms as they walked back to the exit of the mall to their car.

Helpless Clouds
Yesung’s hand gripped the cold wet metal, his fingers locking in a death grip around the cylinder.
The cold wind blasted Yesung head on, strands of his hair flying in all directions, the coldness numbing his exposed skin. Yesung was already immune to the pain, nothing else mattered anymore.
His eyes traced the white foamy waves whenever the water crashed against the rocks. The sea and the sky branched off forever in the distance, without restraints and endless possibilities.
Yesung looked up at the murky sky, almost paralleling his own emotions, as the clouds swirled without order. Yesung summoned all his might and kicked the metal bar. The dull metal made a dull vibration as Yesung kept kicking at it, unleashing his rage on the inanimate object.
The rain hit again, stronger then before, as the cold water drenched Yesung, soaking his clothes and hair. His damp clothes stuck to his skin almost immediately, making him uncomfortable and awkward, but it didn’t matter.
Yesung breathed out loud as his knuckles began turning white, his hands began hurting but he continued squeezing it harder, as if he could squeeze all his troubles away.
Suddenly the cold rain stopped pounding against his head when an umbrella shielded over him, protecting him from the down pour.
Yesung looked up and saw Kangin holding an umbrella above the two of them. His eyes were equally red and puffy.
The words left unspoken, the actions left undone, the emotions left unexpressed, the love left unrevealed, the trust left shattered, the pact left broken.
Yesung began crying again as he leaned into Kangin’s waiting arms. Kangin held Yesung tightly as they continued to watch the waves come and go. Their hands clasped onto each others as Kangin brought them up and kissed Yesung’s hand.
If only their pain and sorrow could come and go like that. If only their troubles could swirl around and turn into nothing.
The rain continued pounding against the umbrellas as beads of water rolled off the black canvas.
“Hyung…” Kangin whispered softly as thunder roared in the distance, followed by a crack of thunder.
“Stay with me like this.” Yesung gripped Kangin’s hand tighter. He leaned further back as Kangin wrapped an arm around his neck.
“You’ll get sick…”
“It doesn’t matter anymore Youngwoon…” Yesung sniffled as the waves continued its wrath against the helpless rocks.
“Jongwoon…” Kangin stroked his hair gently, his hand feeling the damp hair.
“Haven’t you wondered what the clouds would do. They’re so helpless sometimes…”
“What do you mean?”
“They go where the winds take them; they can’t even choose what to do themselves…”
“Jongwoon…”
“We don’t have to be like them. Do we?” Yesung turned around and looked at Kangin. Suddenly he sneezed to the side.
“Jongwoon ah, lets go back to the car. You’re going to get sick.” Kangin urged him in the direction of the car before he finally agreed to, coughing his way back.

A Glimpse at Parenting
“Isn’t he the most adorable thing ever?” Yesung nudged Kangin as the younger boy tucked his cap tighter against his head to cover his eyes. Yesung pointed at the little child walking in front of them. He was in a light blue overall with a pair of bear ears on his head. He was walking slowly and carefully, each step he took he wobbled a bit. Kangin admitted that the child was adorable, but he didn’t want attention.
“Yah shut up you... I don’t want to attract attention.” Kangin said softly, he didn’t want to scare the child.
“We won’t... besides no one will care about you anyways. Ohh look at him.” Yesung happily pointed out as the little child stood beside a potted plant. His head looked up in awe as he pointed at the green leaves.
Kangin actually agreed with Yesung for once. The kid was adorable, each thing he did was super cute.
His grandmother came and pulled him along and sat down on a bench, cradling the small child in her arms.
“Let’s go sit beside her, I wanna see the baby longer.” Yesung whined even though he knew they had to be back at the dorm in an hour after their shopping or else Heechul would get mad because he hates people who are late.
“Yah...” Kangin began to protest but realized it was useless, Yesung already skipped over and took a spot beside the grandma. The little kid laughed and smiled when Yesung started making goofy faces. Kangin walked over and sat down with his hyung.
“Can I hold him?” Yesung asked politely as the little child giggled. The grandmother looked uncertain before Yesung asked politely again, his eyes brimming with honesty and care.
“Okay, but please be careful.” The grandmother handed Yesung the child as Yesung held him in both arms. He lifted him in the air and stared at the kid as the kid laughed happily. The kid reached forward and gently tugged at his cap before he giggled.
“He’s so cute, isn’t he Youngwoon.” Yesung smiled happily as he held the child close against his body. The little boy wrapped his arms around Yesung’s body as he snuggled in.
“He rarely lets other people hold him without crying.” The grandmother said softly as she folded up his small scarf. “He must really like you.”
“Jongwoon we need to go...” Kangin looked at his watch; they were really pushing their time limit. But a part of him didn’t want to break the scene in front of him, Yesung holding onto the child and they were both equally happy.
Yesung’s hand brushed the child’s back as he continued hugging onto the child. “What’s his name grandmother?”
“Haejin. Kwon Haejin.”
“Haejin anyoung.” Yesung gently hugged the kid as his cheek brushed against the soft blue fabric of his overalls. The kid let out a small giggle as if he understood Yesung.
“Anyoung Youngwoon.” Yesung flipped the child around so he was looking at Kangin, his tiny feet resting on Yesung’s thighs. Yesung helped the child wave his arm at Kangin.
“Anyoung Haejin.” Kangin waved back happily, his smile genuine and not forced. His heart felt like it was blooming flowers watching Yesung play with the child like he was his own.
“Kyahhh!!” Yesung said happily as he kept playing with the child. The grandmother chuckled softly as Yesung’s excitement radiated from his smile.
“Jongwoon is it?” The grandmother asked five minutes later, “We have to go tea right now, our family is waiting.”
“Oh sorry grandmother,” Yesung carefully handed Haejin back to the grandmother, “Sorry for taking up your time.” Yesung and Kangin got up and bowed politely as the grandmother got up.
“Oh you’re most welcome.” The grandmother ushered Haejin away, “I’m glad you liked playing with him, Jongwoon sshi." She patted Yesung lightly on the arm. "You will be a good father one day."
Yesung blushed as they watched the grandma carry Haejin away in her arms.
“Come on let’s go now.” Kangin tugged at his hand and pulled him along, “we’re going to be late.”
“Are you mad?” Yesung hung his head, he knew he had gotten carried away with the kid, but he was simply too cute to pass. “Heechul will be so mad at me now... there's no way we can make up all that time."
“It’s okay. I got it.” Kangin gave his shoulder a comforting squeeze. “I can deal with Heechul hyung.”
“Thanks Youngwoon.” Yesung smiled happily as they went to do their grocery shopping, their hands subconsciously reaching out for one another as Kangin picked up a basket.
