Summary: The brilliant thoughts always come during the crack of dawn.

The new generation lives in a world that is digitalized.

Who would have ever thought that one of those trashy teen magazines would offer something so inspirational, or rather, an actual article worth taking a second glance.

Dongwoon winced when the stylist tugged a tad too hard on his hair, nailing in two more clips to keep it up while she attends to his darkening roots.

Everyone comments that Dongwoon didn’t look his age, that being the age of 21 meant that he was still young. The older stylists, many of them thirty or nearing, would dish out their discontent with technology nowdays.

“How can they even stand looking at those tiny screens for so long?” One noona commented while she powdered his nose, and Dongwoon couldn’t agree more.

Dongwoon looked up, catching Yoseob holding his music player, his fingers busy scrolling through pages and pages of songs, and Hyunseung entranced in his iTouch, waving it around while the stylist trying to attend to his bed hair wore a displeased glare.

It was true, the world was at another stage of revolution, Dongwoon couldn't agree more with the writer. It would only be a matter of time before it’d be recognized, marked in history somewhere down the line, that technology, once considered myths of the past, will stand as relics of the future.

Haunting illusions of their music video set flashed back, the array of speakers, dangling rolls of film mimicking vines in a jungle of electric gadgetry. Shuddering, Dongwoon recalled the final product, the way the wires slinked up Yoseob as if they were alive and had a mind of their own. The lights so strategically lined along the ceiling, the pulsating spotlights scattered about in the back.

Who is to say that this fragment of creativity would not become potentially come true in the future. Authors have written about it, how the world will continue to develop its dependency on technology, to the point where life wouldn’t suffice with the absence of electronics. The desire for convenience will eventually market their downfall. Music players also act as calendars, and clocks, and phones, and photo albums, and so much more.

It’s a single function device, Dongwoon-ah, get rid of it and just use your phone.

No, it tells the date too, see there's a small calendar here!

Doojoon arched an eyebrow, turning back to sit comfortably in his chair.

Yet the one thing Dongwoon holds onto is his wristwatch, everyday, with him no matter where he goes. The other members never took on this habit, Doojoon claiming that it was too heavy for his wrist, Hyunseung would probably end up misplacing it wherever he went, or maybe that it simply didn’t have enough functions. Junhyung might have a watch somewhere, but he rarely wears it anyway. Yoseob let out a small shriek, his fingers snapping angrily, probably from a misjudged shot in some game.

The watch was one reminder for Dongwoon for his ideals, that not everyone needed to follow society and entrance themselves with technology. That despite the world succumbing into the grasps of technology, that the desire for nanotechnology and blueprints being strewn up and about laboratories

The stylist noonas were right, that Dongwoon doesn’t look his age, and he most definitely doesn’t act his age either. Then again, when do Yoseob and Kikwang act their age? Why was it always during the waking hours at the salons does Dongwoon conjure these thoughts, making him feel much older than he really is.

“Dongwoon-ah, stop fidgeting.” The noona half barked at him as he rotated the screen of his silver watch, which also serves as a compass. But really, compasses were how many generations ago? The noona tugged at another patch, working the thin brush and dabbing more of the golden dye to his hair.

Being oblivious is always better than being indifferent, because there’s nothing that can stop the accelerating plunge into the digital world. Though Dongwoon had to admit that the flying bird game was pretty fun as Kikwang grabbed his hand, telling him to stop thinking so much as he taught him how to operate the slingshot mechanism of the game.
