[The glass is still blank! But there is a chain with a post. And there is a collar on the end of the chain. It seems like something has slipped its leash . . . ]

Oh, dear. Has anyone seen Alexander?

But there could be. Somewhere where humans didn't fear and enslave half-elves, and elves didn't disdain them at the same time.

It's possible, and I can understand why you'd dislike them now. However, rather than trying to find a perfect world, it's better to work towards fixing what's wrong around you.

I--I'm doing both! I told you you wouldn't understand!

I'm trying to. I'm not here to judge you, Mithos. I don't think a world will ever be perfect, but it can become a safer place to all living things. I believe people is able to change for the better.

I've tried it that way. It doesn't work--people are cruel.

Would you say that about me? About most people here?

I'm sure you can be cruel when you want to be.

It's possible, but it's not something I want to be. That's the difference. I won't be cruel, no matter what the situation might be.

Liar.

I don't have any reason to lie. However, I think that's something you'll have to judge for yourself, Mithos.

You're going to stay there and change my opinion of humans, all by yourself?

No, that's something you need to change by yourself. But I can show you that not all humans are cruel.

Humans are cruel. They lash out at what they don't understand--they scorn it or they enslave it. What can you prove against that?
