re:hyacinths and daffodils, are they in soil? often the soil they are in from the store is completely awful.

This is an EXCELLENT idea. I have too much faith in Trader Joes' soil. Do you know if I am supposed to prune the flowers that have shriveled up? I know very little of flower maintenance!
